Nothing to say

By Mark Forsythe The Kansas City Post

I've been blocked for quite a few days now. Pretty much all I seem to be able to focus on is alternative energy. Electric cars. Hydrogen power. Solar. Wind. Even ethanol (which I still think is a huge boondoggle)

Look for this page to become one big green rant for the next few days. Maybe I should change the name to The Kansas City "Com"Post!

Since transit seemed to be a very hot topic, look for something tomorrow having to do with that. Could be buses, could be light rail, could be something else. Who knows? (Not even me at this point!)

Tune in tomorrow. Same bat time. Same bat station.

Why do you think ethanol is a boondoggle? Why dismiss, as many supposed environmentalists tend to do, any idea which doesn't fit their vision of "green"? Is ethanol perfectly viable today? No. But neither are electric cars, or even hybrids. They cost much more over the life of the car today, to the point most could not afford to be "green".

Or, take wind power for instance. How may enviromental activists dismiss this viable energy source as soon as someone wants to put a wind farm anywhere near them?

A litle research will show that many of California's energy problems are due to the fact that non-environmentalist legislators tried to propose idea after idea, only to be shut down by the enviromentalist majority. Turns out that trying nothing does not work so well.

Let us try even those things that may not make sense to you today, and maybe they will work out beyond what any of us could imagine.
